Shell-N-Tube not only supplies equipment but has unique
design capabilities for cryogenic application systems.
It is for this reason, that, when due to sanctions, ISRO
could not import a very critical cryogenic equipment, it
chose Shell-N-Tube to design, manufacture & supply, LOX-GHe
heat exchanger, which involved very stringent operating parameters.
The equipment included LOX-GHe coils in vacuum insulated
liquid Nitrogen.
The LOX-Ghe heat exchanger was not only successfully designed,
manufactured, supplied and commissioned by Shell-N-Tube, but
also marked a distinct improvement over the design of the
imported equipment as certified by ISRO.
